PV, Battery, Grid, Meter

Energy meters measure electricity flow at various points in your installation and form the basis for intelligent control by evcc.

Usage areas

Each device on this page can be used in one or more of the following roles:

Grid meter (grid): central grid connection
Solar production (pv): energy producer
Battery (battery): home battery
Charger meter (charge): additional meter at a charging point
Self-regulating consumer (aux): consumer with its own surplus regulation

Hybrid inverters often serve multiple roles at once — typically solar production, battery status, and sometimes the grid connection. In that case you reference the same device at every relevant role.

Features

Battery control: External control of home battery charging and discharging via evcc.
Dimmable: Power consumption can be reduced (e.g. §14a EnWG). See External Control.
Curtailable: Inverter production can be reduced (e.g. §9 EEG). See External Control.
